Saving Throes # 140 - 2025 Games of the Year

Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.

With 2025 now a bit behind us, it is time to do the annual tradition of recognizing the best TTRPG games and supplements that came out last year. I had to add a couple of new categories to recognize this time: the best box set, and the best crowdfunding project. Last year saw a large number of high quality box sets released, which is great! It's something that I always loved about this hobby from the older days. As for crowdfunding campaigns, although many of these won't see the actual light of day for a long time, there were more than a few notable projects that got off the ground and have me very excited, so I wanted to recognize them. Tune in to hear what other categories I have, who the winners are and of course, which game came out on top as the overall best game of 2025!
