Saving Throes # 121 - Ritual of Scrying: Did Pathfinder Outsell D&D 4e?
Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
For this week's Ritual of Scrying, I decided to look up how much Pathfinder 1e outsold D&D 4e in its heyday. I was inspired by all the discourse surrounding DaggerHeart and the grip that Critical Role supposedly has on Hasbro and D&D. What I found completely surprised me. This information was not at all what I thought was the case. I had a lot of experience running and playing both 4e and Pathfinder 1e back in their day and this was a raging argument surrounding them both all the time, but I was happy with both games. Tune in to discover what I learned about this subject, and why it shocked me.
