Saving Throes # 108 - Spotlight: Outcast Silver Raiders
Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
Outcast Silver Raiders is a very deeply atmospheric OSR style RPG product. It can be run as-is (essentially like a basic D&D game), or used to augment your own preferred choice of OSR game - the thing it brings to the table is a very unique approach to setting atmosphere and reflecting that atmosphere through its mechanics. At first blush you may think you have seen this type of setting or theme in a TTRPG before, but trust me you likely have not. This really is a build your own OSR kind of kit - take what you want and leave the rest. That said, the setting and tone itself is a truly standout piece of work here, and I personally have found it very inspiring. Tune in to find out why you should absolutely pick this set up, and as a bonus you get to hear all about the Rite of Growth ritual from this set of books.
