Saving Throes # 92 - RPG Book Club: The Living Campaign by John N McGowan

Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.

I recently discovered this wonderful book after watching a recent episode of the YouTube "ACKS to Grind" podcast from Alexander Macris. Author John N McGowan was the featured guest and they discussed the topic of this book, and I was really impressed by the insights and discussion they had. I felt like they understood the kind of game that really appeals to me, so I immediately ordered a copy of his book "The Living Campaign" from Amazon (and it is a really nice price). After having had some time with it, I came to realize that this is a great resource for GMs all over who play in this style or want to know about this style. In fact, it is a great read for anyone with even a passing interest in this old school style, that is still alive and kicking today thanks to the OSR.
