Saving Throes # 82 - Crowing From the Perch: Elon Musk and Other Controversies

Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.

This past week the hobby got a pretty big signal boost to the international stage when Elon Musk posted about his opinion on Wizards of the Coast and their treatment of Gary Gygax in the recent Making of D&D book. Whether you agree with him or not, it has set off quite the firestorm of reactions across the content creator space. It got me thinking of other controversies this hobby has endured and made me wonder what this will look like in another decade? I wonder because I often look back on prior controversies with the benefit of hindsight. In this episode I weigh in on my thoughts around Elon Musk's comment, and I also talk about the controversies of the past, both recent and decades old controversies.
