Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.

Date and time are important aspects in roleplaying games that can often be overlooked and hand waved. While sometimes that makes sense, and lots of people don't like the added burden of tracking this kind of details more than a background detail, I personally believe that this is a very powerful and impactful element is all roleplaying games, and that a game can only benefit from some form of strict oversight. I go over the various methods I have tried to track dates and the passage of time in different campaigns I have run before, and what tricks I use to play with time management in the minute to minute gameplay with my players. I share my experiences and how tracking time has helped my games and how I plan to better track for a future campaign I am planning. Tune in hear who the famous roleplaying game luminary was who said that you cannot have a meaningful campaign if strict time records are not kept!
